Many of the Pickles, including Patrick Muskat (Gherkins), Trace Hokkanen (Greywolves), and KJ Ruffo (Greywolves) played in the Wild Wild West League in 2020. Moises Congo started 2021 on the Rosebuds, and has already worked his way up to the Pickles! Other players including Riku NIshida and Ethan Krupp have used the WWL to catapult themselves to the West Coast League, competing against the Pickles.
Riku NIshida was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 11th round of the 2023 MLB draft. He is the first Wild Wild West player to play for a MLB affiliate.
Is the environment the same as a Pickle game?
Walker Stadium during Wild Wild West games has the same typical quirky, casual atmosphere as Pickles games. Because the Pickles own and operate the league, it can even allow for more excitement, including unique innovations like our robot umpire, Picklebot 4000 and the random wheel of Brine!
Are there fun promotions like the Pickles??
You know it! Throughout the years of Wild Wild West League Baseball, we’ve made crazy headlines. Launching a Pickle into space, Exploding a 50 foot whale, and some weird promos. Back in 2023, we celebrated Picholas Cage, Picklefest, and Youth Baseball Sunday. We have even more promotions coming soon that no one will want to miss!
Robot ump?
Yes, that’s right. Picklebot 4000, the official umpire of the Wild Wild West League, is made its umpire debut in 2023. Why 4000? Picklebot traveled back in time from the year 3005 to be our umpire. Our innovative implementation has been a novel, fun way of calling balls and strikes both accurately and precisely. All fans will be able to hear the balls and strikes called over the speakers in real time!
What’s the Wheel of Brine?
In select Wild Wild West games we bring out the Wheel of Brine. Prior to the certain innings, the wheel is spun to determine the situations both teams will experience that inning. Ever seen an inning with 4 outs, 2 outfielders, all counts that start 2-1? You will now!
Can I bring my group to a game?
Absolutely. We have discounted group rates and areas for 10 to 400 fans. Contact Ian, Korbin, or Mark for more info.
